MAO,Lantawan, Basilan – The Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council (MAFC)of Lantawan recently conducted their quarterly meeting, August 30, 2018 held at Farmers’ Training Center at Matarling, Lantawan, Basilan Province. The MAFC is the composition of private sector, mostly farmers and fisher folks, and government sectors related to Agricultural logistic of Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA)and Bureau of Fishery and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

The MAFC is the advisory and monitoring body of the Department of Agriculture (DA). A regular meetings are held every quarter to tackle issues and concerns of the agriculture and fishery agenda happening within the area of responsibility of the municipality. All the necessary sectoral reports are made by the respective chairman of each sector during the meeting. The MAFC chairman of Lantawan is Mr. Reynaldo Tarroza, the Municipal Agriculture Officer Dra. Julita B. Larracochea is the automatic vice chairman for government sector, while her staff Ms.Jessica CariƱo an Agricultural Technologist is the one responsible for the conduct of the meeting, scheduling, preparing the agenda and take the minutes of the meeting.

All resolutions enacted and approved by the body will be submitted to the Provincial Agricultural and Fishery Council (PAFC) for consideration in the provincial level.
